Windows 11 enshittification

The fediverse is probably the wrong place to ask but does *anyone* want random topics popping up in their application launcher?
Time to ditch Windows?
I only use Windows as an additional platform for a few applications and games and it's been that way for a long time. I block the above using Group Policy (that's a new install on the laptop I just got), but that's only officially supported on the Enterprise edition, which isn't technically available to non-business customers (yet someone sold me a 50-seat volume license on eBay for peanuts . . .).
My old laptop didn't have a Windows VM of its own. Poor thing would get overhelmed and nearly take off with the fans spinning so fast. This one seems to be able to handle it though, despite being only slightly more powerful.
I spoke to soon. It's not practical on this one either.
